Lately, I’ve been talking to you about the new X100 prototype : How it works, the research I’ve been doing in order to create , and understand technology.
Today it’s time to think about the design, and see how can I build a prototype that will encourage people to buy it. I was thinking of creating a futuristic design, but in the same time a practical one. A good example is the Canon Wonder Camera Concept that was displayed at Expo 2010.
In the same time, I want the design to be as simple as possible and the size of my X100 to be a pocket size. ( here are a few unusual concepts of design that I found wile I was researching ) ” http://www.designswan.com/archives/12-innovative-and-unusual-camera-designs.html ”
Paul Rand, said about design, that “is the method of putting form and content together. Design, just as art, has multiple definitions; there is no single definition. Design can be art. Design can be aesthetics. Design is so simple, that’s why it is so complicated. “
In the picture above you can see the ” LEICA i9 for iPhone4 ” , The WVIL concept camera by Artefact combines a (wireless) lens with a body that has all the feature of a smartphone. This could be a good idea for x100 prototype, but it will take a long time for all the components of my technology to be incorporated in a camera that small.
I started working on my design in Photoshop, and I will use 3DSMAX to create a video that will promote my idea.
Let me know what you think about design so far.
